Projects, Workspaces and Templates
In Stratis, your work is organized into projects. A project is a self-contained unit that holds all the data, settings, and configurations related to a specific analysis or task you are working on.
Within each project, you can create multiple workspaces. A workspace is like a dedicated area where you can set up different views, panels, and configurations tailored to specific aspects of your project. This allows you to focus on particular tasks or analyses without affecting the overall project setup.
Creating a New Project
To create a new project, click on Project->New Project in the main menu, or click the “New Project” button on the Projects screen. This will create a new, empty project for you to start working in. If you do it from the Project menu, you will be prompted to give the project a name.
If you want to rename a project, click on the project title at the top right of the screen (which will initially be “Untitled Project”) and enter your desired name.
Using Project Templates
When creating a new project, you have the option to use a project template. Templates are pre-configured projects that include specific panels, settings, and configurations designed for common use cases or workflows. Using a template can help you get started quickly by providing a ready-made structure for your analysis.
Importing and Exporting Projects
You can import existing projects into Stratis by selecting Project->Import Project from the main menu. This allows you to bring in projects that have been shared with you or that you have worked on previously.
To export a project, select Project->Export Project from the main menu. This will create a file that you can share with others or use to back up your work.
Working on Workspaces
You can switch between different workspaces within a project by using the workspace selector located at the top of the screen. This allows you to easily navigate between different views and configurations without losing your place in the project.
To create a new workspace, click the “+” button next to the workspace selector. You can then set up the new workspace with the panels and configurations you need for your specific analysis.
Through the Workspace menu, you can import and export workspaces, allowing you to share configurations between different projects or users, and you can also create new workspaces from existing templates.
